Design & Features

BeatsX is a wireless In-Ear-Headphone, beautifully designed with quality materials for both look and durability. The design is actually pretty cool and the plastic material is slightly glossy. The earbuds are connected to each other through a soft and flexible band which goes all around your neck. With lightweight magnetic buds that houses 8mm drivers and with the unique Flex-Form cable, BeatsX provides a flexible fit for all-day wear. It is lightweight and fits great in your ears for excellent listening experience. The BeatsX Cable has two sections, in the left side the cable houses a small panel below earbud that features a microphone for calls, volume controls and a small panel that activates Siri when held down. On the right cable, there is the power button on the right side and on the left a Lightning port for charging. That means that charging is very quick. The included variety of eartip and secure-fit wingtip options offer further personalized comfort and stability to the device. The earbuds are magnetic, so when you’re not using them they can stick together for more security and won’t fall from your shoulders. The headphones easily roll up to fit in a compact carry case for easy movements and it is currently available only in white and black colors.

The earbuds are comfortable and they sit will in your ears. You will find no discomfort wearing them for 1 to 2 hour during workout or performing other activities like jogging and running. While, for me as a gym addict, I still find Powerbeats 3 more secure wearing for heavy workouts. Overall, we find the design beautiful and minimalstic.

Battery & Connectivity

The best part is that BeatsX has got up to 8 hours of battery life which is good enough for a day listening. Listening with high volume and bassy loud music may still affect the battery life a bit. The W1 Chip contributes in the power management of the earphone that makes the battery last longer. You can fully charge the headphone in 45 minutes and with Fast Fuel option, 5 minutes of charging gets you 2 hours of playback when battery is low. Another value added feature. You can easily charge the headphones via a lightning port and it comes with a Lightning cable inside the box.

For connectivity, BeatsX easily connects via Class 1 Bluetooth with your device for wireless listening. If you are using iPhone, then pairing is just super easy. The W1 Chip makes its wireless connection extra solid and completely flawless. The Bluetooth operation range with W1 Chip is just amazing. BeatsX also works with non-Apple Bluetooth devices, but you have to pair it the old-fashioned way, which is still simple to do. Overall, the connectivity is just excellent.

Sound & Performance

The new BeatsX delivers a decent and clear sound experience for a any type of user and it lets you experience authentic, crystal clear sound throughout your day. Even though they are smaller but they produce clean and bassy sound. It has an improved clarity across all frequencies and noise isolation comparing to the previous Beats earbud models. Means balanced sound for all music genres. The noise isolation has been improved and the sound quality is excellent especially for Bluetooth wireless headphone of this type. With Siri-compatible RemoteTalk, you can take your calls with an on-cable mic and play your favorite music with easy-to-use controls, easily switching back and forth as you go about your day. There is a integrated microphone in the headphone for taking calls. You can get the same clear and natural sound quality and the noise-isolation feature makes it easier to listen clearly while being in a noisy environment. Overall, the sound quality is balanced.

Conclusion

The BeatsX offers an excellent audio performance enhanced by solid and strong wireless connectivity and longer battery life, and it gets our great scores. At $150 price tag, this headphone isn’t cheap, but it is the least expensive wireless headphone from the Beats and it costs slightly lesser than Apple’s AirPods, sounds slightly better, and it also delivers longer battery life. Though the price could be a bit hefty for an In-Ear Headphone but the remarkable combination of sound quality, performance and branding still make it worth buying. If you are a Beats lover and love listening to your playback in style with quality audio, then you will surely want to give it a try.
